All Things Halo | |
| In my humble opinion, Halo happens to be one of the greatest video games ever created. Seeing as how it was the best selling Xbox game in 2001, 2002, and 2003, I'm pretty sure others would agree. Anyway, here are some good sites to plug in with people who know the game like the back of an Xbox controller. | ||
| Added 14 MAY 2004: Well, it looks like Halo's time at the top of the charts will soon be coming to an end. The greatest game of all time will soon be kicked back to the number 2 position by...drumroll please.....Halo2!!! That's right, on November 9th, 2004, the sequel to the greatest selling game of all time will be released. Check for info at any of the links in this section.
Halo.Bungie.Org-This is where I spend most of my time on the web. It's the place for Halo and Halo2 info. They host several great Halo comics, a tips and tricks section (if it can be done, it's probably been documented here for 2 years or better), and has one of the best forums I've been to. Red Vs. Blue-These guys are freakin hilarious. They are the creators of the now world famous web series Red Vs. Blue. It's a show acted out using Halo for Xbox and overdubbed with dialogue. You've got to see this one. Bungie.net-The official website of Bungie Studios. Great place to go if you're looking to join a Halo clan. Surprisingly, not a great place for news, though. Battleground: Halo-Second best Halo forum I've found. Check em out. OmegaNet-The home of my Halo clan, the Omega Cell. JOIN MY CLAN! The Tunes, Man, the Tunes! I tend to lean toward the harder music myself. Here's a list of my favorites with a 1-10 ranking of how hard the sound is. Here's how the scale works: 1-Did you hear something? 2-Wake me when it's over. 3-Go get granny, her song's on! 4-Didn't Bach do a cover of this? 5-This stuff's almost got a beat to it. 6-Can't...stop...foot...from...tapping... 7-Metallica's got nothin' on these guys! 8-MoshPit City Baby! 9-Holy Crap!! I've never heard anything like this!! 10-[Insert witty phrase here] Disciple-My Hard Rock Rating-7.5-Disciple is, in my mind, one of the greatest Christian metal bands out there. In addition to cranking out great tunes at high volume levels, they happen to be an awesome group of guys. If you're into harder music, even if you're not Christian, check 'em out. East West-My Hard Rock Rating-8.0-These guys are in the middle of the massive tie for my second favorite band. They've got a bit harder sound than Disciple, and they put on a great show. When you really feel like rocking out, Grab any of East West's CDs and you won't be disappointed. Eternal Decision-My Hard Rock Rating-7.8-This is the group that first turned me to Christian Metal. I was a huge Metallica fan until I realized that these guys had a similar sound, but with a positive message in the lyrics. These local boys from OKC crank out some great tunes and put on an incredible show. The Fun Stuff We all need something to keep us entertained when the boss isn't looking. Here are some of my favorite flash games, cartoons, and random things I use to fill up all that time that I should spend working. 20q.net-It's an online version of 20 questions where your opponent is a pretty decent piece of AI. It's unbelieveable how good this thing is. I've beaten it 2 out of 3 games so far, but it always manages come up with the right answer after a few more guesses. And if you think that's cool, you can get a more portable version from ThinkGeek. Alter Ego-An odd little game where you go through life all over again from birth. The game presents you with a few different scenarios and scores you on different areas of the personality you're developing. It's an ongoing game, so you could be playing it for awhile. Don't worry. You can always come back and pick it up right where you left off. Madda Cheeb Golfer-One of many great flash games based on that incredible game, Halo. Warthog Launch-Another Halo Flash game, this time from the mind of Boll, one of HBO's forum regulars. Boll's Home-Boll's web page. Lot's of cool flash animations to play with here. Homestar Runner-it doesn't get much better than this. Lot's of good toons the whole family can enjoy. 100% less profanity than those other sites! Be sure to check out StrongBad's Emails. Joe Cartoon-This is sort of a Homestar Runner gone bad. Good toons, but make sure the kids aren't listening. Come to Kenya!-I'm still not sure why I find this so amusing, but I really do! Here's a quick list of some of my favorite web comics: F0r T3h |\|3rdz Yep, I'm a geek and proud of it. These are some of the places I frequent to learn about geek stuff and converse with my fellow nerds. ThinkGeek.com-One stop shopping for all your caffiene, gadget, and geeky t-shirt needs. Be sure to check out the fortunes page. Keep refreshing for more "fortunes." LNGD-The home of Losers, Nerds, Geeks, and Dorks. Basically a bunch of high school kids from Michigan with above-average IQs. Great online community. | ||
